Description
'Recollections of a Boer Prisoner-of-War at Ceylon' — J. N. Brink 'Recollections of a Boer Prisoner-of-War at Ceylon' is a first-hand account of the experiences of J. N. Brink, a Boer prisoner captured during the Anglo-Boer War and transported to Ceylon, where thousands of Boer prisoners were interned. Brink describes the journey into captivity and the daily life of the prisoners, including their living conditions, activities, interactions and experiences on the island. His memoir provides a personal perspective on the Boer prisoner-of-war camps and the experience of exile far from South Africa during the war. The work is particularly valuable as a contemporary Boer account of the prisoner-of-war experience in Ceylon.
