'The Moraeas of Southern Africa' by Peter Goldblatt is a systematic monograph of the genus Moraea, a group of cormous plants in the iris family, Iridaceae. It provides detailed botanical treatments of Moraea species occurring in South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Transkei, Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe, covering their classification, descriptions, distribution and identification. The work is illustrated with botanical watercolours by Fay Anderson and line drawings by Margo L. Branch and Janet E. Klein, together with maps and an index. Published in 1986 as volume 14 of the 'Annals of the Kirstenbosch Botanic Gardens', the 224-page monograph was produced by the National Botanic Gardens of South Africa in association with the Missouri Botanical Garden.
