Description
The Molly van Loon Collection of Buddhist Art is a catalogue published by the UNISA Art Gallery in Pretoria in 1989, documenting a significant private collection of Buddhist art. The collection includes religious sculptures and ritual objects from across Asia, with important examples of Tibetan Buddhist art, including representations of the Buddha and other Buddhist figures. The illustrated catalogue provides an opportunity to explore the imagery, craftsmanship and spiritual traditions associated with these works. It is a valuable reference for collectors and readers interested in Buddhist art, Asian religious history and the history of art collecting in South Africa.
