Description

'The Pilgrim’s Progress' by John Bunyan is one of the great classics of English literature and a landmark of Christian allegory. First published in 1678, it follows Christian as he leaves the City of Destruction and journeys towards the Celestial City, encountering figures and places such as Evangelist, Faithful, Hopeful, Vanity Fair, the Valley of the Shadow of Death, and Giant Despair along the way. Through Christian’s journey, Bunyan explores faith, temptation, doubt, perseverance, and the search for salvation, using vivid characters and memorable landscapes to give concrete form to spiritual struggles. The second part, following Christian’s wife Christiana and her companions, was published in 1684, completing a work that has remained continuously in print and has had a profound influence on English literature.
