Description
'The Prophet' by Kahlil Gibran is a poetic philosophical work in which the prophet Almustafa prepares to leave the city of Orphalese after living there for twelve years. Before his departure, the people ask him to speak about subjects including love, marriage, children, work, freedom, giving, pleasure, pain, friendship and death. His answers take the form of lyrical reflections on human life, relationships and the search for meaning. First published in 1923, the book became Gibran's best-known work and is notable for its simple, aphoristic prose and spiritual themes.
