Under Milk Wood - Dylan Thomas

Description

Dylan Thomas’s 'Under Milk Wood' is a lyrical “play for voices” set over the course of a single day in the fictional Welsh seaside town of Llareggub. Through the dreams, desires and private thoughts of its colourful inhabitants, Thomas creates an affectionate and often humorous portrait of village life. The play moves between the ordinary and the surreal, filled with rich imagery, wordplay and the musical language for which Thomas is known. Developed as a radio play and completed shortly before Thomas’s death in 1953, 'Under Milk Wood' remains one of his most celebrated works.
