Description

Published in 1983 by the Cape Provincial Institute of Architects, 'The Buildings of Cape Town: Phase Two, Volume Three: Catalogue and Classification' documents a survey of Greater Cape Town’s built heritage undertaken during 1982 and 1983. The survey was conducted by Teresa Louw, with contributions from John Rennie and Gregg Goddard, and continues the earlier architectural documentation of the city. Covering historic areas including the Bo-Kaap and the former Table Bay harbour area, the volume records individual buildings through photographs, descriptions, architectural information and historical references. With 697 pages, it is a substantial research resource for architects, historians, heritage practitioners and anyone interested in Cape Town’s architectural development.
